About us

We are Matt and Sarah Bloxham. We first came to Skopelos Island on holiday in 2002 and fell in love with it. We returned six months later to see how a couple of months in the winter suited us and that is when we found and bought our acre and a half of hillside. We gave up our design and construction jobs in London in 2005 and returned to the island to live here full time, supervising the building of our own house and taming the land. Our smallholding is predominantly a mixture of olive and almond trees. It also includes a small vineyard, a sizeable vegetable garden and a developing fruit orchard. We keep hens and a couple of sheep. Matt tends most of the plants and animals, makes the wine and does a bit of fishing. Sarah makes preserves, answers guest queries and cleans out the hen-house. Between us we have done all of the interior finishing of the cottage.
